Polyamory-Knowledgeable Therapy

1
Supportive and aware therapy for the polyamorous community.

Do you identify as polyamorous (poly) or non-monogamous? Have you felt ashamed or ostracized because of your relational life and or sexuality? Are you looking for a therapist who will support you without “treating” your poly identity?

I am here for you.

My name is SkyeBlu Cutchie, and I started my own practice so that I could offer supportive and positive therapy to members of the poly community – people just like you.

I work with individuals, dyad couples, and poly couples from all over the Seattle area, and I would love to work together.

If you are interested and ready to get signed up, contact me today. To learn more about poly-knowledgeable therapy and why it matters, read on!

What is poly-knowledgeable therapy?

Similar to kink-friendly therapy, poly-knowledgeable therapy is all about having a safe, aware, judgment-free space to talk about your relational needs and sexual preferences.

People with unique relational preferences are sometimes shamed by friends, family members, and other connections. What’s worse, few therapists are trained to understand polyamory, which is some will see your relationships as being fundamentally unhealthy. Some may shift their focus to helping you with what they believe is the “problem,” rather than what you actually want help with.

Poly-knowledgeable therapists (like me!) recognize that relational and sexual preferences fall on a spectrum, and that being poly is a normal part of that spectrum. In addition to helping you feel supported in being poly, therapy may also focus on:

  • Dealing with insecurties and worry
  • Coping with relational stressors (breakups, moving in together, etc.)
  • Setting healthy boundaries (and recognizing unhealthy ones)
  • Increasing confidence and wellbeing
  • Learning skills for communication of needs
  • Support in exploring polyamory for the first time

If you or a loved one are looking for a safe space to explore and feel supported, don’t wait - let’s connect.

How can therapy with SkyeBlu help?

As a poly-knowledgeable therapist, I can offer a safe, judgment-free therapy experience.

You deserve a chance to discover and express yourself without feeling ashamed or stigmatized. I am a firm believer that, with the right support and care, you can become your best self.

I work hard to help you understand your unique complexity: physical, psychological, social, sexual, and spiritual. I operate from a holistic perspective that integrates Person-Centered (or Rogerian) Therapy to help you feel heard, respected, and accepted – you deserve nothing less! My hope is to help you become your true, authentic self.

I also draw from Psychoanalytic theory to understand your unconscious mind and identify patterns and parallels in your life. Sometimes this includes art therapy (drawing mostly), metaphors (bringing a feeling to life), or using a sand tray. We may also dive into mindfulness practices and, and somatic techniques (noticing feelings/sensations in the body) to raise your sense of self-awareness.

As desired, we may also integrate elements of Sex Therapy Sex Therapy to help you and your partner(s) with any issues related to sexuality.

No one should feel ashamed of who they are and what they need. You deserve love, acceptance, and support.

Contact me today to get started.
